Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Owen Sound Police Service are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following thefts.

 

Sometime between Thursday July 18 and Saturday July 20, 2002 culprits had removed emblems from vehicles parked in the Northwest region of Owen Sound.  These emblems include four BMW insignia wheel cover caps and a “735” symbol.  Also reported stolen is an Audi Quattro nameplate and symbol.  Total value of these thefts is approximately  $1,000.00 – this figure includes the replacement of the symbols plus body repairs. 

 

This has been an ongoing problem.  Thieves target imported vehicles, such as Audi, VW, Volvo, and BMW.  The process of removing the emblems often causes paint and body damage that adds to the cost of the emblem replacement.
