Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Grey County OPP are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following crimes.

 

Police have received an increase in complaints lately involving the vandalism to rural mail boxes in the Grey County area. Police suspect that the intentional damaging of roadside mail boxes has become a fad with certain groups.

The act of mailbox vandalism usually involves more than one person in an automobile traveling near the mailbox while the passenger swings an object similar to a baseball bat or tire iron at the box in an attempt to knock it off its’ post. Suspects should be advised that these boxes cost up to $50 and this act of vandalism is a criminal offence and those responsible will face prosecution.
