Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Grey County OPP are
asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following crime.
On January
30, 2004 a black Jeep Cherokee pulled into Allan’s Shell
Garage Station in Markdale and the male driver requested a $40.00 fill up. The
lone male passenger left and went to the Becker’s store across the road. The
male driver advised the gas bar attendant that he and his friend were going
gambling and wished to exchange $10 bills for $20 bills. The suspect counted
out the $10.00 like a bank teller and it’s suspected that money was stolen
during this fast exchange. Meanwhile the other male returned from Becker's and
the two suspects drove away in the black Cherokee. It was not until the end of
the weekend, when checking the float, that $500.00 was discovered missing. The
male employee at the gas bar doesn’t believe that the money was stolen during
the “quick change” and suspects that money was stolen from the till while he
was being distracted.
Suspect #1 - Male, white, early 40’s, dark hair,
(unshaven), 6’3”, well built
Suspect #2 - Male, white, mid to late 40’s,
shorter than suspect #1
