Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Ontario SPCA are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following act of cruelty.

On April 18, 2006 the SPCA received a complaint regarding a female Jack Russell dog found drowned in a bag weighted with a rock.  Further investigation revealed a second feed bag containing two five-week old puppies drowned in the same manner.

The bags were tied with baler twine and attached to the shore with yellow nylon rope.

The dogs were found under a bridge in Hepworth Creek at the dead end of Concession 16, just east of Zion Church Road.

The mother dog was still nursing puppies and was wearing a light tan leather collar with a pink jewel attached.

Neighbours reported seeing a tan coloured pick up truck in the area the night before the dogs were found.
