Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and local police services are asking for the public’s assistance in their battle against illegal drugs.

 

Liquid drain cleaner, red phosphorous matches, lithium batteries, battery acid, common cold and allergy medicines such as Tylenol Sinus, Sudafed, and Contact “C”, paint thinner, ether-based products such as “Quick Start”, and Anhydrous Ammonia, (more commonly known as farm fertilizer) - alone these are all just common household products, however combine them together and you have the precursors for the production of Methamphetamine.

 

Methamphetamine is a synthetic drug more addictive than Heroin that causes devastating and sometimes deadly consequences.

 

Methamphetamine users can begin at an early stage to show the obvious changes to their physical appearance caused by the drug.

 

Sold on the street as "Meth", "Ice", "Crystal", "Krank", "Tweak", "Jib", or "Tina", the drug has become increasingly prevalent in Grey and Bruce Counties.

 

Methamphetamine or Crystal Methamphetamine is manufactured in clandestine labs in homes, trailers, and even car trunks.  These labs are dangerous and create the risk of fire, explosion, and toxic waste.

 

A typical Methamphetamine lab will produce an odour similar to cat urine and will exist in homes with blocked out windows and extra security.
