Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce, Grey County OPP and South Bruce OPP are asking for the public’s assistance to help solve the following incidents of stolen copper wire.

 

Sometime overnight on September 5^th & 6^th 2007 unknown suspects entered the locked fenced-in compound of the Hydro One depot situated on Bruce County Road 3 southwest of Walkerton.  Once inside the compound the thieves stole numerous rolls of copper wire off the Hydro One trucks parked in the yard as well as two Stihl chainsaws and assorted hand tools.

 

On the same evening the Hydro One depot at Rockford Corners south of Owen Sound was also broken into and numerous rolls of copper wire were stolen off of the trucks.

 

Due to the value of copper right now it’s evident to police that the theft of the copper rolls was their primary target.
