Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce is asking for the publics’ assistance to help report the illegal trafficking of the drug “OxyContin”.

OxyContin is the trade name for Oxycodone which is a legitimately prescribed narcotic used as a pain killer. The tablets vary in colour and size depending on the dosage but most are imprinted with the letters “CDN” on one side and the number of milligrams on the other. Long term abuse of the drug can lead to addiction and nasty withdrawals.

Abusers can obtain the drug by stealing it from legitimate users or purchasing it from prescribed persons who wish to supplement their income.

Common street names for Oxycontin include OC, ox, oxy, 40, 80, blue, hillbilly heroine and kicker.
