Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Owen Sound Police Service are asking
for the public’s assistance to help solve the following break-ins.
At approximately 1:00 a.m.
January
26th 2010 thieves broke into a convenience
store situated at the corner of 15th Street East
and 9th Avenue East
in Owen Sound.
A large quantity of cigarettes was
stolen from this location.
On January
29th 2010 cigarette thieves struck once
again when they broke into a convenience store directly across from the Owen
Sound Fire Hall. A
quantity of lottery tickets were stolen along with the smokes.
During the same morning a van was reported stolen from the 1500 block of 8th Avenue East
and was later recovered by police in a parking lot near 7th Avenue
and 19th Street East.
Police suspect the van may have been
used during the cigarette theft and suspect that three culprits were involved.
