Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce and the Grey County OPP are asking for the public’s help to help solve the following unique theft.

 

Sometime between May 20th and May 26, 2010 thugs entered a compound on Southgate Road 47 where a construction firm was storing a quantity of structural steel used in the fabrication of electrical transmission towers.

 

The thieves stole steel components that when bolted together create a steel lag used to support large steel beams. These parts were secured in bundles of eight. The estimated replacement value of these parts is approximately $30,000.00.

 

It’s presumed that the thieves utilized a truck or trailer and that either multiple persons or some sort of lifting device was used during the theft.
