Sometime
during the evening of January 14, 2011, or the early morning hours of January
15th, unknown culprits stole a number of stop signs from the
intersection of Concession 8 and Sideroad 10, Brant Township, as well as stop
signs west of Cargill on Concession 10, Greenock Township. The Brockton
Roads department has since replaced the signs, but the South Bruce OPP wants
all residents to be aware that tampering with or removing
traffic control devices is a criminal offence. Removing a stop
sign can easily lead to a collision causing serious injury or death
If you have
information about who is responsible for these thefts or you know the location
of the stolen stop signs call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit a
secure Web Tip.
You won’t
be asked to identify yourself, you won’t have to appear in court, and you may
be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000.00.
