Well, the timing couldn’t be any better for one lucky Meaford resident who has a little extra spending cash for this year's Christmas season. Geoff Solomon recently had his name drawn and was announced as the lucky winner of $5,000.00 cash in a raffle held by Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Inc.

Geoff was obviously elated when he received the news via a phone call from the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors on November 10, 2015.

“I’ve never won anything in my life” was Geoff's enthusiastic reply when he heard the news.  The ticket was sold to Geoff by Jennifer Varah of Meaford, who sits on the Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce.

Betty Bender, Chair of the Board of Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce, commented on how fitting it was that such a deserving person won the cash prize.

Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce is a community based program that combines the Community, the Media, and the Police in a cooperative effort to solve crime in our neighbourhoods.

Proceeds from the draw will be used for costs associated with running the program.
